Day One | Friday October 4th, 6-8:30pm 
Self Care, Self Massage

Taught by Jen M. & Larissa; Assisted by Abs

We've heard alll the love for myofascial release, so we invite you to join us again for an evening focused on self care! This is for YOU! <3

Movement Self Care: We'll begin our time gently, with engaging Moon Salutations.

Mind Self Care: Then, we'll take time for mindfulness in conversation and brief education.

Body Repair Self Care: Finally, we'll spend most of our time tending to our bodies by releasing all that tension!

You’ll learn how to use tools like a tennis ball, a block, and your own hands to move tension out of your body, and you might discover places in your body you didn't even know needed releasing! 

*If you’ve taken a self-myofascial session with us before, we invite you again! Jen always has some amazing tips to share, and the main goal of this is the care and tending you may receive as you roll away tension from your amazing earth home- your body.

 
Day Two | Saturday October 5th, 12:30-3:30pm 
Unique "Floors" Workshop

Taught by Annie, Jen M., and Larissa; assisted by Abs.

We're excited to bring you 3 skilled teachers, each bringing their own unique teaching and perspectives to this 3-hour workshop! Focused on the various "floors," or foundations in the body, we invite you to join us for an afternoon of dialing into your yoga practice <3

 

Feet, Feet, Feet: Taught by Annie, this segment focused on the primary foundation for every day life! Discover optimal foot movements, tune into understanding balance, and take time to show those complex muscles some love. Sore feet, be gone!

Pelvic Floor & Core: Taught by Jen M., tune into the subtleties of engaging your core to create positive changes within the body! Bring your tender backs and reawaken core stability- through effort, we'll find ease!

Neck & Shoulders: Taught by Larissa, understand stress responses, and how those overactive responses may be affecting your neck/shoulders, then take time to release it all! Plus, learn about using teeny throat muscles for big, more optimal breaths. 

 

These Immersions are designed with your long-term yoga growth in mind. It's a great way to begin your 30-Day Challenge, or simply to give yourself the gift of growth, connection, support, and healing. We can’t wait to share and grow with you! :)

We invite you to come get familiar with our spaces, and Funky Foundations is a great place to start!

This class is designed for folks who are new, or newer, to yoga (or to Funky Buddha,) though no matter your experience level, we invite you to join us and build the foundation of your yoga practice.

 

In this class, we'll go over:

  • Movements and foundational postures you'll experience in our Funky Buddha Yoga studios.
  • Best Practices for building your yoga practice.
  • Funky tips on next steps and setting yourself up for success!

 

Our experienced teachers will get you moving and flowing with our community, in our warm and welcoming spaces. We'll save time for any questions (but, of course, no pressure to ask) and invite in lots of fun and play!

Whether you're looking for a beginner-celebrated yoga class or would like to deepen your practice by going back to the foundation, we invite you to look for Funky Foundations at the beginning of each month!

Meditation Circle | 8 Limbs of Yoga

We’re so excited to invite you on our journey through the 8 Limbs of Yoga at our monthly in-studio meditation! 

Join Larissa and sangha (community) for learning, practice, and community support <3 

As always, we'll begin with 10-15 minutes of gentle movement to help our bodies slow down for meditation, then connect through teaching and discussion, before ending with a 30 minute meditation.

This month's meditation circle is focused on the next 3 of the 8 Limbs: Asana (movement), Pranayama (breathwork), and Pratyahara (sensation withdrawal). We'll look at the relationship of going from movement, to subtler breathwork/energy clarity, to subtler still, concentration of one sense awareness at a time.

Beginning November 1st, 21 Days of Gratitude and Meditation is a self-led opportunity to create a habit of gratitude as we head into the bustling holiday season.

  2. Follow us on socials, where a new photo prompt is posted to our stories each day at 7:45am (after Morning Meditation)

Chakras & Bandhas Workshop

Dive into Yoga Philosophy and playful movement as we explore the Chakra system and Bandha techniques to care for our "energy body".
Taught by Matthew & Larissa Whether you're on day 1 or 1,000 of your yoga journey, this workshop is for you! In this workshop we'll:  💎 Learn a bit about yogic philosophy and terminology. 💎 Take a look at the 3 main Bandhas and how we can use them to support our yoga practices. 💎 Learn about what Granthis, or energetic knots, are and how we can work with them to release energetic tension. 💎 Learn about the Chakra system, and specific movements that will help you move through energetic blocks. 💎 Physical tools to help support flow in our "energy body": *Mudras (particular hand postures and gestures) *Mantra (sounds) *Movement: certain movement patterns and/or yoga poses A little info about Bandhas and Chakras (and Granthis, oh my!): This is a workshop about what we call in yoga the 'subtle bodies', or energy. Not an easy thing to try to capture paper, but an important part of not only the yoga system, but just being human. Bandha, a Sanskrit word, is translated as lock, and we can create these Bandhas in our bodies through certain physical actions. Bandha techniques involve concentrated muscular contractions, which temporarily restrict blood flow in certain areas, and when released, they stimulate fresh circulation! These techniques may flush away old cells, reinvigorate your organs through new blood flow, and help you create more space in your body for optimal breathing. Chakra translates as wheel, and you can imagine these as energetic wheels spinning in certain areas of your body. This workshop will bring these concepts together and show you ways to incorporate them into your regular practice. We'll add some big playful movements, along with small, subtle ways you can take care of your body, your energy, and your overall well-being. You'll come away from this afternoon of play with a fresh perspective and new tools to work with, so you can bring new areas of growth into your regular practice. Plus, we trust you'll feel amazing after you give your body some physical and energetic love.

Deliberately sandwiched in the midst of holiday hustle and bustle, Rest Fest is an opportunity to Connect. Nourish. Pause. (And of course, rest!)

 
Part 1: Moon Salutations & Myofascial Releasing

1:30p-3:30p

We'll begin with about 30-45 minutes of gentle but warming Moon Salutations with Jen M, followed by a session of Myofascial Release that will leave your muscles, and mind, feeling much more ease and relaxation.

We'll take a short break here to enjoy some nourishing treats and refreshments, before we finish our Rest Fest with...

 
Half Time: Nourish!

Enjoy freshly pressed juice from Road to Revitalize, a new and upcoming small business in Downtown GR and our favorite energy bites from Sugar Mommas Bakery in Cascade!

 

Part 2: Kirtan, Restorative Yoga + Sound Immersion

3:30p-5:30p

We will begin this wonderful session with Kirtan (means recite or praise, or Sankirtana, which means collective performance). This is a call and response style of singing or chanting. You may join us in the vocalization, or simply enjoy the sounds of Matthew's guidance.

In the 90-minutes remaining, we will focus on rest & rejuvenation, through movement & breath. Larissa will lead a restorative flow, with the magical addition of a Sound Bath.

If you’ve never heard of a Sound Bath, you’re not alone. Imagine the good kind of tingle you feel when music gives you goosebumps! Give your body a little TLC and soothe your senses through melodic sounds. 

Get ready for full-on yoga bliss with our annual, much requested Rest Fest. Take this time for yourself.
