Meditation Circle | R.A.I.N. Meditation

We’re so excited about incorporating Tonglen practices at our monthly in-studio meditation!
Join Larissa and sangha (community) for learning, practice, and community support <3  As always, we'll begin with 10-15 minutes of gentle movement to help our bodies slow down for meditation, then connect through teaching and discussion, before ending with a 30 minute meditation. This month's meditation circle is focused on R.A.I.N. Meditation, or the practice of emotional intelligence in decision making. Want to learn more? Read this Buddha Blog!   Reminder, you don’t need to have meditation practice to join! If you'd like to learn more about our meditation practice, check out our Youtube! Or head on over to the blog! We’ll always give many options so you can find comfort and resourcing as you practice. We can't wait to meditate in community with you!

Sweat, play, breathe, and rest!

These Immersions are designed with your long-term yoga growth in mind. It's a great way to begin your 30-Day Challenge, or simply to give yourself the gift of growth, connection, support, and healing. 

Session 1 | Self-Myofascial Releasing + Sound Bowl Meditation
Friday May 2nd- 6-8:30p The first part of this workshop is allllll about taking care of your body. You’ll learn how to use tools like a tennis ball, a block, and your own hands to move tension out of your body. You’ll likely discover places in your body you didn't even know needed releasing. Jen M. will warm you up with some fun movement and then we’ll spend most of our time working out body tension, and Larissa will lead you into rest with a sound bowl meditation. Join us for a great warm up, and looooong tension-releasing session for your body! Plus, bask in rest and restoration for your mind, too. If you've joined our myofascial release workshops before, we invite you again, each one offers new insight and infusions in your practice!
Session Two |  Flight & Fun: Arm Balancing + Neck & Shoulder Love
Saturday May 3rd- 1-3:30p Arm balancing fun! We'll begin with a little Chaturanga breakdown, as this is the foundation for many of our arm balances, and great way to infuse liveliness and amusement into a pose we do all the time. Then we'll dive into tips, tools, and skills to be able to play with an array of arm balances–Familiar favorites like Crow, plus some fresh and spicy poses like Flying Lizard and Flying Warrior.  We will flow, explore, and provide you with the tools necessary to gain more confidence in your arm balances. Wherever you are in your practice, this workshop is for you!  Get ready to breathe, move safely, take your foot (or feet!) off the ground, and have a blast.

Funky Foundations | Holland & Eastown

We invite you to come get familiar with our spaces, and Funky Foundations is a great place to start!

This class is designed for folks who are new, or newer, to yoga (or to Funky Buddha,) though no matter your experience level, we invite you to join us and build the foundation of your yoga practice.

In this class, we'll go over:

  • Movements and foundational postures you'll experience in our Funky Buddha Yoga studios.
  • Best Practices for building your yoga practice.
  • Funky tips on next steps and setting yourself up for success!

Our experienced teachers will get you moving and flowing with our community, in our warm and welcoming spaces. We'll save time for any questions (but, of course, no pressure to ask) and invite in lots of fun and play!

Whether you're looking for a beginner-celebrated yoga class or would like to deepen your practice by going back to the foundation, we invite you to look for Funky Foundations at the beginning of each month!
