Whether breathwork is part of your practice already, or a new step on your journey, we invite you to join us!
Through open-mouth, circular breath and somatic movement, we’ll create space for a gentle awakening of your vital life force, or in the language of yoga, Prana. The hustle, bustle, and survival conditioning of life can sometimes disrupt this current – which may leave us feeling worn down, under-resourced, or like we’re “going through the motions.”
This session intends to move with the current. With deep-safety –and individual pacing–we’ll move through those old holding patterns and release the emotional weight that may be calling for support. The Somatic Wisdom Institute believes in healing by listening, honoring, and reclaiming. We won’t be teaching you how to transcend, we’ll guide the way for you to come home–to your practice, to your body, to your whole (Funky) self.
You’ll be invited to:
Connect with your body’s anchors of safety: Learn and practice simple techniques and resources to help active your “rest and digest” system
This might look like swaying or bouncing, standing or sitting, or simply resting; You might create the sound of lion’s breath, or deep sighs, or settle into your own comfortable silence.
We’ll also invite you to arrive with an open mind and heart, remove any expectations (no traditional yoga flow, no goals to meet), and allow yourself to be moved–physically, mentally, and emotionally–in brand new ways.
