Can you guess which muscle group we work the least in our yoga practice? Did you say pull muscles? Corrrreccctttt! Pulling work is a great way to support your practice, bones, grip strength and overall long-term body health. Named for the group of muscles used when pulling, “Pull Muscles” refers, mainly, to back muscles (like lats, traps, delts), biceps, and forearms–of course, we can’t leave out wrists and hands. Plus! Those Posterior Chain (back) muscles are key supporters to our posture! Let’s be Funkin’ real, most many of us spend a good chunk of time hunched forward, tethered to: screens, steering wheels, cutting boards, you name it. Over time, this hunched-posture-party can invite in Upper Cross Syndrome, so supporting these muscles are the antidote!
What You Can Expect:
Strength as Support: learn new skills to incorporate in your practice to engage pull muscles
Posture Party: gain new knowledge to walk (into the studio 😉) a bit taller
Release & Restore: spend time tending with self-myofascial release and end our session with a 15-minute meditation.
